Aid Projects

Nepalhilfe Beilngries e.V.

Nepalhilfe Beilngries e.V. has been supporting people in Nepal for more than 25 years. The aid projects to date have included the construction of village schools in various regions of Nepal, several health stations, a children's home for orphans and half-orphans, a training workshop for seamstresses, a school for the blind and a vocational school as well as support in the purchase of ambulance vehicles and medical equipment. What is particularly nice about it is that really every cent donated goes directly into the projects of Nepalhilfe. No administrative costs - all members of the association and many supporters of Nepalhilfe work on a voluntary basis! You can find more information on the homepage www.nepalhilfe-beilngries.de.

New project in cooperation with Nepalhilfe Beilngries

Disable Day Care Center Lubhu / Kathmandu

Dear friends,

Thanks to the very generous donations and activities of many people we were able to complete the project to rebuild the school in Thulosirubari in 2019. More than 500 pupils have now the possibility to attend school again and the running of the school is guaranteed. I would like to thank all those who have contributed to this project with all my heart. THANK YOU. MUCH.

Although this project has been completed, there is still much to do in one of the poorest countries in the world. Together with the friends of Nepalhilfe Beilngries, it is my great concern to continue to support people in this wonderful country.

In the new project we would like to support people with special needs together with my partner Manfred Jericha. It is about a day care centre for mentally handicapped children and young adults in Kathmandu. There is a lack of adequate accommodation and care facilities. Currently 24 women and 8 men are accommodated in a corrugated iron construction consisting of four rooms. It is almost impossible to provide care under these actually inhumane conditions. Furthermore, another 15 people with different handicaps and different ages are already waiting for admission - for lack of an alternative. Most of the people to be cared for come to the facility on a footpath lasting up to one and a half hours. They are looked after there during the day between 9 and 16 o'clock.

The land on which the "care centre" is located is about 15 km southeast of Kathmandu in Lubhu and was purchased by the association "Intellectual Disabled Parents Forum" in 2017. This association was founded in April 2014 by affected parents. The planning for a two-storey building suitable for disabled people is already in place. The costs amount to about 120,000 Euros. The aim is to provide children and young adults with disabilities with accommodation for daily professional care and support. Maintenance is provided by the parents on the one hand and by the sale of handicraft products made by the children themselves on the other hand.

If you would like to support the project, you can do so by making a donation to Nepalhilfe Beilngries as follows

School project Thulosirubari

The Gerlinde-und-Ralf School in Thulosirubari was officially opened in May 2009. The school, beautifully situated on a hill near Chautara, was attended by over 500 students.

It was to have been six years old before it was completely destroyed in the severe earthquake in 2015. Luckily, the earthquake happened on a Saturday when school was closed - otherwise it would have been much worse, as the first floor collapsed completely .... In the following months the remains were demolished with heavy construction equipment.  Before that, however, all usable building materials such as windows, doors and railings were secured. They should be available for the upcoming new building.

Of course, we also wanted to get involved in the reconstruction and so, together with Ralf Dujmovits, I supported the "school up! Further information on the action and a documentary on the reconstruction on his blog https://abenteuer-berg.de/school-up-mein-herz-ist-in-thulosirubari/
